I immediately thought of Judy Garland, singing somewhere over the rainbow in Wizard of Oz. My favorite 2 stanzas in the song are:
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
With all our problems in today's society its nice to think that way. This song always puts a smile on my face for some reason. There really isn't an Over The Rainbow but the thought is nice. Well... I guess home sorta is. Thats the one place I have where I feel okay. Where my mom's embrace or my brother's laugh can warm my soul and make even the worst days feel not so bad. I guess thats all we can ask for. One place to call ours, our own little peice of "Over the Rainbow".

That is exactly what I thought when I read the prompt. You've said it so well here. We have to make the best of it in our life today, and family really does help. Glad you were able to take the time out and post.
I'm certain there is an Over the Rainbow. You just have to believe.
Every once it a while we get to see a glimpse of Over the Rainbow but I guess if we saw too much we would want stay there and not do the work that we have assigned to us.
I like your thought process in here. You stasrted out with just the words to the song but it led you to evaluate your own rainbow. Good writing!
I love that song and I love the idea of over the rainbow too.
You had a similar thought on this prompt to what I had. That is one of the best classic songs that will last forever.
"Thats the one place I have where I feel okay."
Yep. I was nodding and smiling here.
Thanks for reminding me!
One great song!
trying to find a meaning
It's a beautiful song and it seems we had similar takes on the prompt.
Everyone should have such a somewhere, or carry one inside of them. You've reminded me how dear my family is to me. I need to call them. Thank you.
